Premier Dental Partners’ Approach to Periodontics

Restoring your oral health with care

Premier Dental Partners specializes in complex periodontal cases, bringing expertise and compassion to every treatment. Maintaining healthy gums is important to your oral health and overall physical health, as gum disease can contribute to serious systemic issues. We focus on providing our patients with personalized care, ensuring you receive the most effective treatments for your periodontal concerns.

You are in safe hands with our trusted team, who will help you to restore full oral function. Once your treatment is complete, your periodontist will provide a full update to your regular dentist to ensure continuity of care.

Biopsies and Treatment for Oral Lesions

Early intervention for the best results

Our team can perform biopsies for oral lesions. Early detection and intervention with prompt treatment can greatly improve patient outcomes if oral lesions have been identified. By addressing these issues proactively, we can minimize any complications or extensive treatment being needed in the future.

Gum Disease Treatment

A range of options to suit your needs

Our gum disease treatment plans are tailored to address the unique challenges each patient faces. We offer periodontal therapy and root planing and scaling to remove harmful plaque and tartar from below the gumline. This reduces inflammation and promotes healthier gums.

For more complex cases of gum disease, periodontal surgery may be necessary. This may include bone grafting around the teeth (guided tissue regeneration) to encourage the growth of healthy tissue around the teeth.

Root Amputations

Treatment and stabilization for damaged teeth

Root amputations may be needed to save a tooth that has suffered severe damage or infection. As the name suggests, this involves removing the affected tooth root. Our periodontist will do this while preserving the healthy part of the tooth root. Root amputation treatment stabilizes the tooth and relieves pain, helping prevent future complications and retain the natural tooth as long as possible.

Tooth Extractions and Socket Preservation

So you can go on to complete your smile

Premier Dental Partners can extract teeth that are beyond repair. Following the extraction, our team performs a treatment called socket preservation. This helps to maintain the bone structure and prepare the socket for future restorative dental work, such as dental implants. Socket preservation increases the chances of successful restoration.

Soft-Tissue Grafting

Advanced techniques to restore gum tissue

Soft-tissue grafting is available for patients who suffer from gum recession and for those who are planning dental implant treatment. We use advanced grafting techniques suitable for a variety of patient needs.

Crown Lengthening and Gum Contouring

Reshaping the gums for a balanced smile

Our team provides both posterior and anterior aesthetic crown lengthening. This is a procedure designed to reshape the gum tissue for a more balanced smile. By carefully removing excess gum tissue, we can increase the visible area of the teeth. Crown lengthening is also very effective for preparing teeth for restorative or cosmetic dental treatments, such as dental crowns or porcelain veneers.

We also offer gum contouring, which is a similar treatment that removes excess gum tissue in patients who are unhappy with their smiles. We also provide an operculectomy treatment. This is a procedure that removes the excess gum tissue around a partially erupted tooth (often a wisdom tooth).

Frenectomies

Lip- and tongue-tie correction to improve function

Frenectomies are minor surgical treatments that correct lip- and tongue-ties. Both of these conditions can hinder oral function as they restrict the mobility of the mouth and tongue. By removing the restrictive tissue, full function is restored, making it easier for patients to eat, speak, and maintain oral hygiene. Lip- and tongue-ties are common in babies but are also treatable later in life in preparation for orthodontic treatment or as a method of reducing gum recession.

Bone Grafting

Addressing jawbone density issues

Bone grafting may be necessary if a patient has insufficient bone density due to tooth loss or periodontal disease. This treatment involves transplanting bone material from other areas into the jawbone to create a more stable foundation for future restorative treatments, such as dental implants.

Sinus Augmentation

Oral surgery to prepare for dental implants

Sinus augmentation increases the bone height of the upper jaw to prepare for dental implant placement. This treatment may be necessary if a patient’s sinus cavities are positioned too close to their upper jawbone, making it too challenging to place the implants without impacting the sinuses.

Dental Implant Fixture Placement

and treatment of failing dental implants

Premier Dental Partners specializes in the placement of dental implant fixtures. We use cutting-edge cone-beam imaging technology to plan your treatment and determine the ideal positions for your implants. Once your implant fixtures are securely placed in the jawbone, you can return to your general dentist to complete your smile with further restorative treatment.

Our team also provides treatment for failing dental implants. This involves the removal of dental implants that are no longer secure or functioning effectively.

Dental Anxiety

Safe sedation for a calm experience

Dental anxiety prevents many patients from pursuing the dental treatment they need to stay healthy. At Premier Dental Partners, we work collaboratively with patients to determine ways we can make them more comfortable so they can have stress-free experiences. As part of this, we offer nitrous oxide, which is a safe, mild sedation that helps patients relax during treatment. The effects of the nitrous oxide wear off quickly, allowing patients to return to their daily activities as soon as their appointments are over.
